Fire Pals

Public education is extremely important to the BFD. A big part of public education is our fire pals program that we have set up with the local school districts. Members of the BFD visit each of the grade schools in the community once a month and talk to children about various safety tips. The Fire-Pals discuss the importance of how to dial 911, stop-drop, and roll as well as wearing bike helmets and not to play with matches. It is a great learning experience for the children as well as a way the fire department can interact with the community to prevent any life threatening emergencies.
